Shift: Day (first shift days)。

Primary Role:
Provide intermediate computer systems and network support for the Agency, including hardware and software troubleshooting, user support, network maintenance, and project assistance.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical customer support for agency information technology systems.
  • Respond to user inquiries regarding computer software, hardware, and application usage.
  • Install, test, and maintain network hardware, software, and security components.
  • Perform system imaging and software installations on computers.
  • Assist in maintaining the operating system and security software used on the network.
  • Maintain the network’s physical and logical structures, including connections.
  • Assist in supporting local office infrastructure and wide‑area network, cable and hub installations, inventories, and related duties.
  • Assist with or lead training for users on hardware, software, and utilities.
  • Serve as unit backup as needed.
  • Execute additional tasks, projects, or special assignments requested by the manager.
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and seminars as required; some may be held outside headquarters.
Essential Job Functions
  • Work a predictable schedule with availability for after‑hours and weekend support during emergencies.
  • Maintain consistent contact with users and resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Adhere to security and compliance standards for all network and system operations.
  • Provide documentation and reports of support activities and project progress.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of network facilities and data processing techniques.
  • Knowledge of personal computer hardware and software.
  • Knowledge of network operating systems and security software.
  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and resolve network problems.
  • Ability to train others on technical issues and agency procedures.
  • Ability to oversee and coordinate work assignments of others.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, staff, and customers.
  • Capability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment and prioritize heavy workloads.
Initial Screening Criteria
  • Two years of experience supporting desktop operating systems in a local or wide‑area network.
  • Hands‑on technical support experience with computer hardware and software.
  • High school diploma or GED required; completion of computer/technical courses or training preferred.
  • ITIL Foundation Certification preferred.
Additional Information
  • Travel approximately 30% within the Texas Panhandle, with occasional overnight lodging.
  • Occasional overtime, weekend work, and holiday support for projects such as network upgrades or disaster response.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 30 lbs of equipment.
  • Requires reliable transportation, appropriate insurance coverage, and a valid driver’s license.
  • Candidate will reside in Region 01 and will be based in either Amarillo or Lubbock office.
