Position Summary
Operations Schedulers will proactively create and align a multi-week, rolling schedule in collaboration with area leadership to ensure work is performed on‑time and within the specified performance targets. The objective is to build, coordinate, and maintain a prioritized, compliant, executable 2‑week schedule. Operations Schedulers will be responsible for creating the schedule for a designated region, function, and/or commodity area.
Essential Responsibilities- Prioritize and schedule planned work in a multi‑week timeframe based on work types, job priorities and resource availability; identify gaps and resolve scheduling conflicts.
- Develop and communicate a valid, workable schedule based on business unit guidelines for work coordination to assign through facilitation of regular scheduling meetings.
- Ensure resource availability (crews, equipment and materials) and mitigate resource conflicts and backlogs over a multi‑week timeframe.
- Verify work tasks are assigned to the correct work areas, in the right order, adhering to critical dependencies and proactively drive toward a mid‑term view of required resources that contributes to forecasting and staffing decisions throughout the business area.
- Communicate and work effectively with supervisors and build/leverage strong partnerships with stakeholder groups at a variety of levels to maximize productivity, utilization and operational efficiency of all resources. Drive and maintain ownership for regular scheduling meetings.
- Drive customer satisfaction by establishing and maintaining strong adherence to scheduling processes.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Minimum five years’ experience in construction, design, maintenance or operations area (utility experience preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to schedule and administer work activities in a manner that meets customer and/or internal stakeholder requirements.
- Established analytical and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills including meeting management and facilitation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet tools.
- Ability to retrieve and manipulate data from reporting tools.
- Knowledge of and ability to use a wide range of computer software applications which include Microsoft products, work management, mapping and scheduling/project management tools.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, construction management or related field.
- Previous SAP reporting experience.
- Previous PowerBI experience.
- Scheduling/planning experience in utility or construction industry.
The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $32.00 to $44.73 per hour.
