Retail & Store Manager
Position Summary:
The role involves leading and developing teams, coaching associates in store operations, communicating business initiatives, and driving financial performance while ensuring outstanding customer service. The candidate will manage training, mentorship, performance management and budgeting activities, collaborate across departments, maintain compliance with company policies, foster a culture of belonging, and act with integrity in all interactions.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead and develop teams by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates; provide feedback.
- Communicate and collaborate with all levels of associates regarding store operations and technology-driven initiatives.
- Introduce and lead company change efforts, provide clear guidance, and implement business solutions.
- Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service following the One Best Way (OBW) service model.
- Manage and support customer service initiatives, resolve complaints, and implement action plans to improve customer experience.
- Drive financial performance; review PL statements, budget, forecasting, and control expenses to meet sales and profit goals.
- Ensure effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and mitigate shrink.
- Hire, train, mentor, and supervise hourly associates, set expectations, provide recognition, and promote inclusion.
- Coordinate job‑related activities, develop relationships with stakeholders, and support initiatives that meet customer and business needs.
- Ensure compliance with policies, the Open Door Policy, and uphold Walmart values of integrity, belonging, excellence, and customer focus.
Additional compensation may include:
- Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)
- Complex Structure (based on external factors that create challenges)
The annual salary range is $65,000.00 - $. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
Minimum Qualifications- 2 years of college
- 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience
- 2 years’ general work experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience
- For facilities that sell firearms: successful completion of a firearms‑specific CBC and Firearms Authorized Training.
- For facilities that sell only ammunition with state requirements: possession of a current state‑issued Certificate of Eligibility.
- Completion of all job‑required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy, Open Door).
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
