Plant Manager (Quarry)
We are looking for a Plant Manager to join an industry-leading organization to lead efforts in a key quarry operation. The role will focus on developing company-wide strategies related to recruiting, training, and retaining a strong team in an effort to provide top-notch quality to customers while maintaining overall project efficiency. This organization is very stable and takes care of its people.
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently managing workforce and overseeing operational activities of quarry/mine and processing plant personnel.
- Thoroughly enforcing and supervising the execution of safety protocols and procedures.
- Strategically managing expenses to align with financial plans and implementing cost reduction strategies to maximize savings.
- Identifying areas of improvement and devising a comprehensive plan for continuous enhancement.
- Skillfully leading and guiding team members by establishing clear and succinct performance goals, delivering regular feedback, and fostering growth through effective training and accountability measures.
- Ensuring strict adherence to both Company and Government policies and regulations.
- Providing direct oversight for mine and pit planning as well as development initiatives.
- Assisting in the formulation of budgets and conducting forecasting exercises.
- Guarantying adherence to robust processes for the production of high-quality goods while actively collaborating with the area Quality Control department.
- Maintaining frequent communication and engaging in collaborative efforts with the sales team.
- Actively participating in outreach endeavors and establishing strong ties with the local community.
Requirements:
- High preference given to individuals holding a bachelor's degree in mining engineering, geological engineering or a related field.
- Considerable background with a minimum of 5 years' experience in the realm of quarry mining operations.
- Minimum of 5 years of participation in a supervisory or managerial capacity within the mining industry.
- Proficient understanding of profit and loss statements as well as fundamental accounting principles.
- Exceptional aptitude in effective communication and exemplary leadership capabilities
- Capability to foster leadership development at the lead person and foreman levels.
- Demonstrated expertise in identifying, communicating, and implementing optimal operating practices, encompassing excellence in areas such as quality management, maintenance, production, and safety.
- Exemplary record in safety practices and unwavering adherence to MSHA safety standards, specifically within the framework of Part 46 & 48.
- Strong foundational knowledge in basic mathematical principles.
- High preference given to candidates exhibiting proficiency in basic surveying and mapping skills.
- Familiarity with environmental policies, standards, and best practices.
- Working knowledge of AggQC and Agg Flow software tools is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Office applications.
