Warehouse Pallet Repair Construction 1st Shift

Overview

Position Description
Ryder is immediately hiring permanent full-time Skilled Construction Laborers to ensure expert craftsmanship at our warehouse manufacturing facility in Amarillo, Texas.

Manufacturing and Construction positions pay weekly.

• Repair or assemble pallets using pneumatic nail gun, powered saw, and other powered/hand tools; place pallets on repair table, remove defective boards, replace with new boards, and secure boards into place.
• Operate a pry bar, hammer, grinder, and saw to ensure repairs meet quality standards and required safety practices.
• Manually lift up to 75 pounds and stand for long periods (8–10 hours) during the shift.
• Ensure pallets meet CHEP quality control audits and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
• Follow safety procedures and comply with OSHA and MSDS standards; wear all safety equipment while repairing pallets.
• Perform other duties as required.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 0 to 1 year in carpentry or construction background preferred
• Ability to comprehend basic math
• Ability to operate power tools in a safe manner
• Must be able to follow repair process
• Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 lbs with proper technique
• Capable of standing and walking for extended periods (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8-hour day)
• Able to use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements
