Purpose and Scope

The Training Technician will create, develop, and implement step‑by‑step training for quality product. This position will assist in new hire and internal backup training while maintaining training records and ensuring compliance. They will evaluate training effectiveness and maintain documentation. The Training Technician will collaborate with other departments and provide feedback on the training progress, while maintaining a prominent floor presence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve training materials and programs for various manufacturing processes, positions, and equipment.
  • Create engaging training materials and curriculum such as knowledge assessments, hands‑on practical applications, and interactive learning tools. (ex. new hires for sub‑assembly through final assembly, cross training, hydrotesting, laser/press operations, tank plumbing)
  • Deliver on‑the‑job training to employees during the onboarding period, ensuring they understand proper techniques, safety protocols, machinery operation, and quality control procedures.
  • Present new hire orientation for the HR function to all new hires.
  • Ensure that all training programs comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Track the progress of trainees and provide feedback and support as needed to ensure they meet proficiency standards.
  • Assess training outcomes and modify programs to enhance employee performance and productivity.
  • Manage post‑training transitions for new hires, ensuring a seamless integration into their roles through guided support and mentorship.
  • Keep accurate records of training completion, certifications, and any relevant evaluations for both new hires and internal training such as forklift, cybersecurity, and job‑change training.
  • Act as a resource for employees who need clarification or additional assistance regarding manufacturing processes and systems.
  • Other duties and projects assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Previous experience in training or mentoring roles is highly desirable but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, machinery, and safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to break down complex concepts into easily understandable terms.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and other training tools/software.
  • Ability to assess and provide constructive feedback to employees.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple initiatives in a fast‑paced environment.
  • A passion for education, employee growth, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
