Warehouse Pallet Inspector

Ryder is immediately hiring permanent full-time Skilled Construction Laborers to ensure expert craftsmanship at our warehouse manufacturing facility in Amarillo, Texas. Manufacturing and Construction positions pay weekly.

Hourly Pay $19.00 per hour

We want the right Manufacturing Employee to join us at Ryder and work with State of the Art Equipment in the Safest Environment.

Nail Gun, Grinder, Saw

Roles and Responsibilities for Pallet Repair Operators

  • Will use a pneumatic nail gun, powered saw, and other powered/hand tools to repair or assemble pallets
  • You will be placing pallets on repair table, removing defective boards, replacing with new boards and securing boards into place.
  • Work requires operator to stand for long periods of time (8-10 hours) and lifting up to 75 pounds throughout entire shift

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1 to 2 years or more in Carpentry, Manufacturing environment preferred
  • Ability to comprehend basic math
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work within a diverse work environment
  • Highly thorough and dependable
  • Must be punctual and have a good attendance record
  • Performs work independently with minimal supervision
  • Possesses a high degree of initiative
  • Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Be a team player
  • Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
  • Operate power equipment in a safe manner
  • Lift and/or push/pull up to 50 lbs
  • Twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis
  • Use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements
  • Work at a steady, fast pace while kneeling and/or twisting
  • Follow inspecting process
  • Capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8-hour day)

Responsibilities

  • Pallet Inspection/Smetco Operator
  • Safely and securely inspect pallets at a rate that meets company standards and in a manner that meets company safety standards
  • Manually lift 70lb pallets from a stack to a conveyor; in addition, lift the pallets for inspection and separation utilizing the Smetco machine
  • Ensure that proper inspection and separation is met
  • Conduct physical inventories as required
  • Safety and Security:
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area
  • Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse
  • Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety
  • Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards
  • Must wear all safety equipment while repairing pallets
  • Performs duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
  • Performs other duties as assigned
