Texas Oncology is looking for an Infusion RN to join our team. This full-time position supports the Infusion Department at our Amarillo, TX location. Hours are 8:00am–5:00pm, Monday through Friday, with no weekends, call, or major holidays.

What is the Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP)? What does the Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) do?

Under minimal supervision, the RN provides professional nursing care following national and company standards for specialty regulations. The nurse demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, and developmental and age-specific differences across patients (late adolescence to elderly). Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to assess and manage patient/family needs and supports adherence to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care in line with established standards.
  • Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional materials.
  • Prepare and administer therapies under physician direction and supervision.
  • Administer medications and blood products using correct medication/product, dosage, route, time, and technique.
  • Ensure pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration where applicable.
  • Facilitate dose modification by assessing the patient and labs, consulting the protocol/treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting the physician as needed.
  • Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central lines/catheter devices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and treatments provided.
  • Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • Minimum 0–3 years of RN experience.
  • Willing to consider entry, mid, or senior level candidates.
  • Current RN license in practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
