Texas Oncology is looking for a Clinic Float Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team! This position will support the Medical Oncology Department at our Amarillo, TX location. This is a full-time Monday‑Friday position (8:00am‑5pm) with no weekends, call or major holidays.

Whatdoes the Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) do?
Under general supervision, the RN provides professional nursing care for patients, adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. The RN must recognize the physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects of care and participate in company‑wide quality initiatives. The RN supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities- Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
- Assess health status by interviewing patient regarding current status and medical history.
- Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
- Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
- Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
- Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record the information in the patient chart.
- Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals and future appointments for patients.
- Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient chart.
- As necessary, facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care.
- Assist patients in locating available community resources.
- Engage in inter‑professional collaboration.
- Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
The ideal candidate for the Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) will have the following background and experience:
- Graduate from an accredited professional nursing education program; BSN preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
- Willing to consider entry, mid, or senior level candidate.
