RN / Registered Nurse / Supervisor / Operating Room / FT / Days Position Summary
The Supervisor – Operating Room is responsible for the effective operation of the Operating Room/Perioperative Services, and for the ongoing assessment and improvement of these activities. The role ensures that the OR functions efficiently, supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence, and practices the Service Excellence standards with all customer groups.
Provision of Services- Demonstrates leadership in the provision of department services through a collaborative process designed to integrate services/functions throughout the organization.
- Participates in and supports a process to measure, assess, and improve performance of management, clinical, and/or support services in conjunction with the Operating Room/Perioperative Services and all regulatory agencies.
- Exhibits effective leadership skill in planning, organizing, and coordinating departmental functions in relation to the organization’s mission, vision, strategic goals, and values and in accordance with relevant standards and licensure requirements.
- Assists in the development of a department‑specific fiscal plan including but not limited to a departmental budget, compliance monitoring of budgeted parameters, and appropriate corrective action while providing organization and direction for resource allocation according to the scope of services.
- Operates shifts of responsibility to meet the fiscal goals of the organization.
- Implements value‑added programs and services.
- Manages the satisfaction of department customers to include patients, employees, and physicians through effective communication and appropriate responsiveness.
- Provides care in compliance with the current Joint Commission Requirements, National Patient Safety Goals, Core Competencies, and Annual Competencies.

- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
- BSN required or must be acquired within 3 years.
- Current certification in BLS.
- 3 years experience as an RN in the operating room area.
- 1 year management experience in the operating room area.
- CNOR preferred, or obtained within two years with maintenance of certification.
