Responsibilities
The LVN works under the supervision of the charge nurse or registered nurse, delegating tasks within the LVN scope of practice. The LVN provides safe, compassionate and focused nursing care to assigned patients with predictable healthcare needs, applying continuous quality improvement principles and collaborating with other health team members. The LVN supports an organizational culture of Service Excellence.
Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current state nursing license or permit to practice in Texas.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (or obtained during orientation) and maintenance throughout employment.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Ability to communicate with patients, families, staff, physicians, support agencies, vendors, and others.
- Ability to remain calm during stressful situations.
- Ability to respond to pages.
- Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions.
- Bending, lifting (minimum 25 pounds), grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to understand and interpret financial data.
- Ability to identify appropriate data and interpret its significance to clinical and operational activities.
