Position Summary

This position functions under the supervision of the Transfer Center Director. Facilitates a “One Call” process to coordinate and support the direct admission process of patients to NWTHS. This position supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence standards to all customer groups.

Provision of Services
  • This position collaborates with admitting Physicians, Nursing, Transfer Center and business office admitting personnel to perform appropriate bed assignment/placement.
  • Obtains, documents and facilitates physician admitting orders complying with appropriate and approved standards as outlined by the organization and accrediting agencies.
  • Collaborates with admitting physicians utilizing appropriate clinical knowledge and critical decision making to ensure appropriate placement of patients within the institution.
  • Facilitate through-put by using appropriate triage and critical thinking skills.
  • Follows appropriate policies and procedures as set forth by the organization for the purpose of assessing and coordinating patient admissions.
  • Responsible for performing phone and computer functions and completing various logs/orders/forms in[1]order to complete the admission, discharge or transfer processes.
  • Cross-train to other job duties as deemed appropriate by Supervisor/Director.
  • Accept additional duties as assigned.
  • Understands, participates in, and contributes to quality improvement process for the Department and Institution.
  • Assumes responsibility for position’s impact on the departmental budget as it relates to the overall functioning of the organization.

Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse licensed in the state of Texas
  • Previous in-hospital clinical experience is required
  • Independent decision making and organizational skills
  • Computer experience required
  • Manager/Supervisor experience desirable
  • Previous public contact work is recommended
  • Typing/keyboard skills
