The Assistant Chief Nursing Officer ("ACNO") is responsible for demonstrating appropriate leadership skills in planning, organizing, and coordinating risk activities in relation to the UHS and Northwest Texas Healthcare System mission, vision, strategic goals, and values. This position supports the development and maintenance of high-quality nursing operations and contributes to the effective delivery of patient care in accordance with applicable regulatory and accreditation expectations, including The Joint Commission leadership standards.
In this role, the ACNO serves as a key nursing leader within the organization and provides direction that helps promote accountability, consistency, and operational excellence across nursing services. The ACNO is the executive champion for quality initiatives and performance. The position requires a strong understanding of clinical operations, organizational priorities, and performance improvement principles. The ACNO is expected to work collaboratively with nursing leadership, department leaders, and interdisciplinary teams to advance patient care goals, support staff engagement, and ensure that nursing practices align with the organization's standards and strategic objectives.

Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Nursing or related healthcare field required
- Minimum five (5) years' experience in Director-level or higher healthcare positions
- Current Texas RN licensure
- Exceptional ability to support nursing leadership functions in a complex healthcare environment.
- Proven ability to plan, organize, and coordinate initiatives that align with organizational goals and regulatory standards.
- Advanced interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to build collaborative relationships.
- Proven capacity to lead through influence and credibility.
- Ability to analyze operational challenges, identify opportunities for improvement, and contribute to solutions that enhance patient care and organizational performance.
- Exceptional ability to analyze and execute on large amounts of complex data.
- Advanced familiarity and understanding of performance improvement principles, leadership expectations, and risk-related activities within a hospital setting.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, respond to evolving needs, and maintain professionalism under pressure.
