Position DescriptionPerforms specialized work in the planning, conducting and/or supervising of original research ponsible for participating in, planning, scheduling and/or supervising research projects and the interpretation of the results for publication. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on accomplishment of assigned objectives and overall effectiveness of project. May supervise research and student assistants.

Major/Essential Functions- Conduct basic science research in a laboratory setting, including in vitro and in vivo work.
- Data collection, analysis, and presentation.
- Attend lab and project meetings, as well as professional events related to research projects.

Preferred Qualifications- Experience working with a team of diverse scientists and engineers.
- General cell culture experience.
- Preclinical laboratory techniques and rodent experiments.
- Preclinical behavioral testing related to cognition and motor coordination.
- Leading a focused laboratory project and overseeing lab staff.
- Good lab practice, data analysis, understanding of basic statistics, and presentation of results

Required QualificationsMaster's degree or specialized academic training beyond the bachelor's level in a particular field of science or engineering equivalent to a master's degree. One year research experience. Knowledge of modern research practices, the methods, resources, and standards thereof.
Security EligibilityIn accordance with Texas Executive Order GA-48 and applicable state or federal law, this position may involve access to, work on, or conduct research involving critical infrastructure. It will require background checks, including, but not limited to, criminal history and other security-related screenings. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of these checks.
