What You Will DoAll Lowe’s associates deliver quality customer service while maintaining a store that is clean, safe, and stocked with the products our customers need. As a Night Operations Department Supervisor, this means:
The Night Operations Department Supervisor is primarily responsible for leading and enabling a team of associates to deliver the best possible customer experience in the store. This includes coaching and training associates, delegating, following-up on daily tasks, managing performance, and ensuring adequate department coverage. They plan, schedule, monitor, and implement all non-selling operations, facilitating the store’s ability to provide a superior customer shopping experience and maximize sales and profitability.
Collaboration and communication with other Department Supervisors and Assistant Store Managers are essential to meet service, operations, and safety objectives. The role involves driving efficiencies, teaching skills for effective store operations, and communicating upward to keep management informed of concerns, issues, recognitions, and morale.
The supervisor helps keep the store safe by conducting safety walks, reporting hazards, training staff, and understanding safety and lifting requirements.
Occasionally, this role may involve opening or closing the store or serving as manager-on-duty (MOD).
Travel may be required occasionally for meetings, training, or supporting neighboring stores.
What We're Looking For- Hourly Full Time:
Generally scheduled 39 to 40 hours; additional hours may be required. - Requires working overnight shifts.
- Physical ability to perform tasks requiring prolonged standing, sitting, and lifting (minimum 25 pounds, with or without assistance).
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of retail experience OR 5 years of retail experience.
- Experience supervising or providing direction to teams.
- Experience in training, mentoring, and developing associates.
- Cross-functional work experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to obtain necessary sales-related licensure or registration.
- Experience in front-end or back-end retail operations.
- Customer service experience.
- Leadership experience with direct reports.
- Experience in home improvement retail sector.
- Experience in fast-paced retail environments.
- Experience with manager-on-duty responsibilities.
- Familiarity with store computer systems (e.g., Project Tool, Genesis, Sterling, M2O, Thin Client).
If required by law, you must obtain a salesperson license within 60 days of employment.
