Job OverviewAs a Field Merchandiser, you will work independently to showcase your organization and time management skills, establish retailer relationships, and serve as the face of Hallmark. You’ll collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement, maintain inventory levels, and support seasonal resets and installations when needed. Occasionally you may work with other products from different companies in the stores you service.
Salaryand Schedule Details
- Starting hourly pay: $12.50–$14.50 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
- Paid training delivered through live, hands‑on instruction and virtual classroom training.
- Part‑time employees receive voluntary benefits including medical, dental, vision, etc.
- Eligible employees receive annual pay increases.
- Variable schedule during the work week.
- Average weekly hours: 6–10.
- Availability the week before and after major holidays, including weekends, is required.
- Availability to support season changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory support.
You will perform service work in the Hallmark department of various retail stores such as grocery stores, drug stores, department stores, and mass retailers. The position consists of three major components:
- Day‑to‑day engagement:
Use a mobile device provided by Hallmark to restock, organize, and monitor inventory of Hallmark products inside and outside the department. Technology is critical for day‑to‑day work and communication with your supervisor, reporting time, providing feedback, and answering surveys. Professional and courteous interaction with store employees, management, and customers is vital. You are responsible for the entire Hallmark product display at your assigned stores. - Holiday support:
Leading up to and following holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, you may work additional days and extended hours. On certain holidays you may be required to work on the holiday itself, including weekends. - Department resets:
Occasionally you may join a team for installations, building and installing Hallmark fixtures, relocating card departments and products, and resetting card sections. Advance notice (typically two weeks) is provided for remodel assignments, which may include evenings or weekends. - One Team Vision:
As part of Hallmark’s field organization, you are part of a network of merchandisers who often support other team members as needed in their territories.
Physical demands include pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures up to 30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. You must kneel, squat, walk, and stand throughout the day and may be required to climb stairs and step ladders.
Basic Qualifications- At least 18 years of age.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Capability to lift and carry products up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to operate a digital handheld device to open, read documents, and interpret information.
- Access to a Wi‑Fi network and the internet.
- Consistent reliable transportation to travel to and between assigned stores on schedule.
