Position: Installation Technician I - Security

Technician I - Security Technician (Amarillo, TX, US)

Technician I responsibilities include but are not limited to performing startup, installation, closeout, and service of jobs; assisting in design and other tasks as assigned while delivering on Bosch Building Technologies commitments to customers. These positions are targeted to work on a Major Project outside of Amarillo.

Responsibilities
  • Installs, terminates, and tests equipment as per specifications and in conjunction with any pertinent building and/or electrical codes.
  • Repairs, restores, and tests all systems per specifications and in conjunction with any pertinent building and/or electrical codes.
  • Communicates daily with the Project Manager on delays, requirements, and general status of jobs to ensure delivery of the project.
  • Performs all work to company standards and practices quality installation techniques.
  • Works with the Project Manager to ensure complete closeout and turnover of jobs to the client and service department.
  • Works at required heights utilizing ladders, scaffolding, lifts, or other tools.
  • Works in confined spaces as necessary.
  • Works with Field Engineers on startup to ensure complete system compliance.
  • Trains apprentices on company procedures, systems, and installation techniques.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years working in the electronic field with daily use of AC/DC theory/installation (e.g., HVAC).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
  • Ability to pass pre‑employment screening.
  • Ability to use hand and specialty power tools associated with the industry.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs consistently.
  • Ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ year prior experience in a technical role within a residential or commercial integrated security systems company.
  • Associate’s degree (2‑year) in a technical capacity.
  • Aptitude for learning system programming, evidenced by 1 year of experience.
Physical Demands

The employee regularly stands, climbs, walks, sit, pushes, pulls, squats, crawls, and stoops. Hands are used to finger, handle, feel objects, and type on a keyboard; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Power tools are used to effectively perform this position. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may work at heights over 6 feet.

Conditions

Onsite data center environment typical of a commercial construction site.

Additional Information
  • Compensation: $23.87 - $26.99 /hour (DOE).
  • Travel Required:

    Limited.
  • Working Hours:

    Onsite. Monday‑Friday, with overtime up to 20 hours per week and on‑call when necessary. Initial schedule will consist of 2 weeks of 6/10 hour days and 1 week of 5/10 hour days.
