Summary

Our Yard Hand is responsible for assisting in day‑to‑day operations within our retail shop/store and steel yard.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in loading and unloading material from machines.
  • Assist operators and drivers in the retail shop/store and yard.
  • Handle and transport materials and equipment within the facility.
  • Use power tools and machinery when needed.
  • Set out or put away tools when needed.
  • Clean up store and yard free of debris, dirt, and hazardous material.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors to perform tasks.
  • Report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions.
Qualifications
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Positive attitude and desire to work as a team player.
  • Ability for cross training in other areas of the shop.
  • Follow safety procedures including the proper use of personal protective equipment.
