HVAC Filter Changer

HVAC Equipment Technician

Responsible for performing scheduled HVAC filter changes throughout the District. Assist in repair of HVAC equipment, building plumbing, and restoring equipment. Assist in identifying, diagnosis and repairing malfunctions in all areas of HVAC equipment.

Qualifications:

Minimum

Education/Certification:

High school diploma or GED

Clear and valid Texas driver's license

Special Knowledge/

Skills:

Ability to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, to follow oral and written instructions

Ability to read a variety of correspondence, lists, forms, work orders, schematic electrical plans, etc.

Ability to inspect items for proper length, width and shape

Must have minimal levels of eye/hand/foot coordination

Ability to differentiate between colors and shades of color

Knowledge of the principles of electrical and mechanical systems

Utilize mathematical formulas; to add and subtract; multiply and divide

General proficiency in the use of mechanic tool

General proficiency in the use and operation of personal computers

Ability to maintain simple logs and records, as well as the ability to generate reports

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignment

Tools/Equipment Used:
Electrical measuring and testing equipment; welding equipment; hand tools; power tools; hoist; plumbing tools and equipment including pipe bender, propane torch; hand tools; power tools; heavy equipment including forklift, trencher, backhoe; light truck or van

Posture:
Frequent standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting; work in tiring and uncomfortable positions

Motion:
Frequent walking, climbing stairs/ladders/scaffolding, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, and overhead reaching; frequent driving

Lifting:
Heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over) on a daily basis

Environment:
Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; may work on rooftops; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals and materials, noise, vibration, and electrical hazards; work around machinery with moving parts; work around gas lines; may work in tight or enclosed spaces; may work alone; may work irregular and prolonged hours; frequent district wide travel

Mental Demands:
Maintain emotional control under stress

One year of experience in general maintenance and equipment repair
