- 4-5 years minimum collision auto body repair experience required
The Auto Body Technician’s primary responsibility is to provide an exceptional and successful customer experience through the meticulous assessment and quality repair of each vehicle, restoring it to pre‑accident condition. The technician thoroughly disassembles, repairs, and reassembles each vehicle while playing a pivotal role in the company’s promise of speed, quality, and customer excellence. Working in alignment with all team members to achieve repair facility KPIs, the technician is a dedicated Brand Ambassador of The Boyd Group at all times.
Key Job Responsibilities- Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
- Plan repair work, prepare cost estimates, and use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers for repairs.
- Use methods such as hammers, filler resins, and other techniques to address dents, dimples, and minor body damage.
- Realign chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
- Remove damaged sections and replace with new or aftermarket parts; replace or repair glass and windshields as needed.
- Repair or replace interior parts as required.
- Weld and fit parts; prepare and repaint vehicles with factory‑specified paint or agreed‑upon equivalent.
- Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines and verify quality by inspecting vehicles after repair.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
- Read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
- Collaborate effectively with other repairers in the shop.
- Understand methods and procedures for repairing vehicle bodies.
- Proficient in operating tools needed for the trade.
- Work safely in a noisy area with strong odors.
- Lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
- Inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions.
- Perform bending, stretching, kneeling, and squatting during repairs and inspections.

Pay ranges $90,000 to $140,000 +.
Compensation is commensurate with location, skill, education, and experience. If total compensation is less than minimum wage, hourly pay will guarantee the applicable local or state minimum wage.
Supplemental Pay:
This position may be eligible for bonus opportunities tied to individual or business initiatives.
