Job Overview

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a fleet that includes aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and specialty equipment such as large‑scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil/gas equipment. The role supports a safety‑focused environment and contributes to minimizing equipment downtime.

• Perform preventive maintenance on diesel and heavy equipment, specialty lines, and related machinery.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic and electrical system issues using advanced troubleshooting skills.
• Provide mechanical tools and equipment as required for job tasks.
• Adhere to safety procedures and rapidly respond to changing priorities in a fast‑paced setting.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all performed work.

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school or equivalent training preferred.
• 3 to 5 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy equipment, or specialty lines (generators, pumps, HVAC, oil & gas).
• Advanced knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Flexibility to handle changing priorities and workloads.
• Bilingual (Spanish or other) may be required for specific locations.
• Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one may be required.
• Relevant military MOS/AFSC/NEC codes (e.g., 711, 713, 2506…) are considered a transferable skill set.

Job duties require bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting 50 pounds or more. Work may be performed indoors or outdoors as required.
