Job Title
This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the refrigeration systems while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
TasksThe successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- General Mechanic positions may work in any department within Processing or Harvest at this beef processing facility. The role requires standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching in all work areas. Candidates must be able to climb stairs and ladders and lift up to 100 pounds. Work is performed in cold, damp, or hot and humid environments, with temperatures ranging from 30°F to 105°F.
Candidates must be mechanically inclined; welding experience is preferred. - Refrigeration maintenance crews work six (6) days per week with two (2) rotating days off. Schedules include Sundays and some major holidays.
- Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson have a 180 days rehire waiting period and a 3 time limit.
6 months ammonia refrigeration or boiler room experience. 12 months experience of mechanical work will be considered in lieu of refrigeration experience. Qualifying candidates must take a tour before accepting a job offer.
