Fiber Optic Technician

As a fiber optic technician, you will be responsible for the terminating, splicing, testing and documenting of all fiber optic cable types with the end goal of providing maximum operating efficiency.

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in fiber splicing and testing and/or structured cabling
• Ability to read, write, and understand English, Spanish is a plus
• Ability to distinguish color codes
• Ability to pass background and drug testing

• Understanding of fiber cabling types
• Excellent listening skills and ability to follow instructions
• Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
• High attention to detail
• Ability to meet deadlines by tracking project hours, job progress, and timesheets
• Reliable, dependable, and consistent with jobsite schedule
• Willingness to work days, nights, and weekends as projects require
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
• Adaptable to various work environments

• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
• Carry and climb ladders up to 20 feet
• Work in tight, confined spaces
• Sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and reach with hands and arms
