- Coordinates and conducts monthly Regional Youth Advisory Council meetings.
- Maintains communications and working relationship with appropriate entity contacts regarding current Independent Living activities in the State.
- Primary contact for the State of Nebraska Independent Living Program Director
- Attends DHHS Independent Living meetings.
- Maintains contact with DHHS Independent Living liaisons, as needed.
- Coordinates all activities for State computer camps.
- Coordinates and conduct tours to post-secondary education sites
- Obtains and disburses resource and scholarship information.
- Trains staff regarding Independent Living transition paperwork and timelines, as needed.
- Writes and distributes Independent Living newsletter.
- Serves as resource for workers regarding specialty areas for youth leaving the child welfare system.
- Provides direct services to youth leaving the child welfare system as requested by supervisors and/or area directors.
- Seeks and identifies grant opportunities.
- Implements Saint Francis Ministries policies and follows directives as required. Follows and adheres to all pertinent Saint Francis Ministries Standard Operating procedures (SOP's), rules, personnel policies, and procedures; related accreditation and licensure standards; and federal, state, and local rules, statutes, regulations, and contractual terms.
- Reports unusual incidents through appropriate Risk Management, clinical and safety channels.
- Ensure clients' rights are protected.
- Is knowledgeable of and follows all safety procedures
- Bachelor's degree in Human Service field
- One-year child welfare direct service or related experience.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Must pass a drug screen, Nebraska Child Abuse and Neglect Registry Clearance, any background checks deemed to be necessary.
- Lifting requirements 50 lbs.
- Must have a valid NE driver's license, acceptable driving record and reliable transportation
