Open Until Filled PRIMARY PURPOSE
Under general supervision, maintain the Maintenance Department Warehouse while ensuring efficiency in ordering and receiving supplies and materials, assist the Director of Maintenance, Forepersons, and other supervisors in the purchasing of supplies and materials. Ensure the Warehouse Associate receives supplies and materials, stocks, adds and maintains a check out system of these items.
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Certification / License:
Valid Texas Driver's License
Forklift Certification - preferred
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
Accurately decipher packing slips, barcode labels and product labels
Knowledge of computer applications and inventory system
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, stock pickers, etc.
Knowledge of how to properly stack and secure loads for transport and storage
Operate vehicles pulling trailers
Perform responsibilities under general supervision
Maintain accurate records
Possess strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills required to achieve departmental goals
Minimum Experience:
One year of warehouse operations and related experience- required
Basic knowledge of the following trades and operations is preferred:
Plumbing, Electrical, Welding, Automotive, HVAC, Custodial, Irrigation, Carpentry, Paint, and Grounds.
Tools/Equipment Used:
Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals, mobile computing device (tablet, etc.); ability to operate forklift (with instruction) and power tools (with instruction); operate up to 1 ton delivery trucks
Posture:
Prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs; frequent bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion:
Repetitive hand motions including prolonged keyboarding & use of mouse; frequent reaching
Lifting:
Lifting and carrying (70-100 pounds);
Must be able to exert up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to repair and/or move equipment and objects
Environment:
Work with frequent interruptions; must maintain professional demeanor under stress;
Must have problem solving skills; ability to work in all weather conditions, both day and night;
Exposure to hazardous chemicals/fuels
Regular attendance is an essential function
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES- Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse floor.
- Oversee the receipt of supplies and materials and comparing the received items to purchase orders.
- Responsible for the routine cleaning, orderly storage, and organization of the storage of materials. Devise methods to storage systems.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Operate equipment to receive or deliver materials into the warehouse or to assigned job locations.
- Ensure inventory records are being properly updated and maintained.
- Perform work order record keeping and other documentation as necessary within the Maintenance Department's work order system.
- Determine warehousing locations in order to store inventory items in warehouse and sub-warehouse locations. Identify product location with proper labeling.
- Responsible for maintaining efficient stock levels in the warehouse by working with the Director, Forepersons, and other persons as necessary.
- Complete requisitions for the purchase of supplies and materials shared by multiple trades and some individual trades.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all local policies and state and federal statutes including the Educator Code of Ethics.
- Perform such other tasks and accepts such other responsibilities as may be assigned.
