SUMMARY:
The Warehouse Lead in a food manufacturing facility is responsible for directing the workflow for daily warehouse operations. This includes ensuring accurate and timely receipt, storage, and distribution of raw materials and finished goods in compliance with food safety standards, and inventory accuracy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates & troubleshoots inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels by conducting regular cycle counts and identifying and resolving all discrepancies
- Prepare reports on inventory, shipping, and receiving activities.
- Maintain accurate records of stock movements using warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point, Good Manufacturing Practices, Federal Drug Administration (e.g., HACCP, GMP, FDA).
- Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and logistics teams to meet operational goals.
- Train, coach, and lead warehouse team members to meet productivity and safety goals.
- Oversee the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse to meet hygiene standards.
- Operate forklift and other related warehouse equipment.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS &
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or certification in logistics/supply chain is a plus.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in warehouse operations, preferably in food manufacturing.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and warehouse best practices.
- Proficiency in inventory software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Forklift certification is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIORNMENT:
- Required to maneuver plant and warehouse work spaces which involve:
- Frequently standing, walking, sitting, talking, or hearing,work around loud machinery and moving parts
- Continually utilize hand and finger dexterity, continually exposed to extreme heat, extreme cold, wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather)
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, exposed to outside weather conditions, and push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds safely
