Job Title: Deputy Housekeeping Manager
Salary: £32,960.00 - £34,051.50 per annum
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 39 hours per week
Live-in accommodation may be available for exceptional candidates.
This role is based on-site at Langdale Hotel and Spa, Ambleside, LA22 9JD
.
The Deputy Housekeeping Manager will assist the Executive Housekeeper in managing the housekeeping team across self catering lodges, two hotels, laundry, public areas and back of house areas.
Key ResponsibilitiesIn addition to this management oversight and coordination, the Deputy Housekeeping Manager will be required to:
Co-ordinate cleaning schedules and allocate tasks to the Housekeeping Team.
Actively monitor and inspect standards of cleanliness.
Assist in creating and managing staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and efficient use or resources.
Train staff to the required standard and provide ongoing coaching.
Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly checklists are completed.
Log defects or faults with the maintenance team and ensure follow up action has been taken.
Co-ordinate the stocks of guest and cleaning supplies.
Manage stocks of inventory as agreed in the service level agreement.
Assist the People and Culture (HR) Team with people matters.
Manage payroll inclusive of authorising daily timesheets.
Work closely with the Executive Housekeeping Manager and other departments to ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction.
Deputise in Executive Housekeeping Manager’s absence.
Maintain positive customer relationships by actively seeking solutions to guest queries and complaints in a manner that both protects the brand and leaves the guest satisfied.
Lead-by-example, direct, organise and motivate the teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Uphold, create, and innovate department standards and operating procedures to positively improve the guest experience.
Foster a positive culture of learning, fun, equity, and performance within the team through training, appraisal, and development programmes.
Adhere to the company’s Health and Safety procedures and implement those procedures where necessary.
Proven experience in a similar position.
Strong problem-solving capabilities with the ability to adapt to changing environments.
Excellent leadership skills with a hands-on approach and lead-by-example work style.
Commitment to exceptional guest service with a passion for guest experience and the hospitality industry.
Ability to find creative solutions, offering advice and recommendations.
Personal integrity, with the ability to work in an environment that demands excellence, time, and energy.
Strong communication and listening skills, excellent speaking, reading, and writing skills
Experience of using IT Systems.
