The Sales Manager is an administrative leadership role responsible for coaching field sales staff, coordinating trade show activities, managing sales communications, and supporting customer and marketing initiatives. The role is based onsite in Ambridge with approximately 50% travel.
Key Responsibilities Sales Team Support & Coaching- Maintain regular communication with field sales personnel via phone, email, text, Zoom, and in-person visits.
- Coach sales staff on opportunities and strategies for successful outcomes.
- Monitor daily activities and monthly expenses for field sales representatives.
- Approve expense reports and forward to the company treasurer.
- Schedule and host sales meetings and training sessions.
- Assign personnel to trade shows and coordinate travel and logistics.
- Select booth space, coordinate payments, and manage show personnel contacts.
- Prepare, ship, assemble, dismantle, and track booth materials.
- Manage trade show literature, displays, and video content.
- Assemble and distribute leads collected at trade shows and monitor follow-up.
- Monitor industry social media and publications for trends and opportunities.
- Maintain relationships with industry publications and negotiate advertising contracts.
- Manage advertising copy and create new product literature as needed.
- Maintain inventory of marketing literature.
- Act as liaison between field sales staff and office departments on orders and sample requests.
- Prepare pricing and inventory schedules for customers and sales personnel.
- Research and publish prospect lists for cold?calling opportunities.
- Collect and distribute weekly contact reports from sales personnel.
- Assist the company president with special projects as assigned.
- Travel to customer locations for cold calls, technical troubleshooting, and relationship building.
- Attend industry association events representing company interests.
- Coordinate internally with customer service, accounting, R&D, and production teams.
- Provide monthly expense reports.
- May drive company vehicles to transport trade show materials.
- Travel requirement: approximately 50%.
The Sales Manager serves as a positive mentor and coordinator, ensuring smooth communication between field sales, office staff, and customers while maintaining strong oversight of trade shows, expenses, and sales support activities.
