High School Art Teacher (Potential for Full-Time):American Heritage School in American Fork, Utah, is seeking a qualified and dedicated High School Art Teacher for the 2026–27 school year. This position is part‑time, with the potential to be full‑time. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to inspire students in grades 9–12 through creativity, skill development, and a deep appreciation for the visual arts within a rigorous, faith‑based academic environment.

Under the direction of the Fine Arts Department Chair and high school administration, the Art Teacher will plan and deliver engaging curriculum that supports the mission of American Heritage School. The teacher will foster both technical proficiency and conceptual understanding across a variety of media, which may include drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, and digital art. Responsibilities include preparing and facilitating daily lesson plans, establishing and clearly communicating learning objectives, assessing student work, providing timely and constructive feedback, maintaining accurate records, and creating a classroom environment that is safe, orderly, and inspiring.

Applicants should have a minimum of two years of teaching experience, preferably in a formal high school setting. A bachelor's degree or higher in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field is preferred. Strong candidates will demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present instruction in an engaging and well‑paced manner and to create clear assignments and expectations.

Effective classroom management, organizational skills, and consistent, professional communication with parents and colleagues are essential.

Candidates must demonstrate an enduring love of youth, a passion for teaching and mentoring students, and a commitment to working in an educational environment aligned with the teachings and values of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter‑day Saints. Candidates should be professional in appearance and demeanor and be willing and able to uphold and serve as ambassadors for the AHS Mission, Honor Code, and Diversity Statement, on and off campus.

In addition to the qualifications listed above, applicants are encouraged to include any interest in assisting with AHS extracurricular athletics programs. Please indicate any experience as a player or coach in specific sports. Preference is given to employees who are qualified and interested in supporting extracurricular athletics.
