Lion Energy is hiring a Senior Cabinet Assembly & Commissioning Specialist to support our mission of delivering reliable lithium energy storage systems for commercial backup power. This role combines hands‑on assembly with field commissioning to ensure safe, high‑quality installations at customer sites.
Position SummaryThe Senior Cabinet Assembly & Commissioning Specialist performs hands‑on assembly, wiring, testing, and field commissioning of outdoor electrical and battery cabinet systems for commercial power backup applications. You'll leverage deep technical expertise to deliver reliable, safe systems that meet safety, quality, and performance standards—playing a key role in our energy independence solutions.
Key Responsibilities Assembly & Manufacturing- Assemble outdoor‑rated electrical and battery cabinets using engineering drawings, wiring schematics, and specifications.
- Install components like batteries, inverters, breakers, busbars, and thermal management systems while ensuring code compliance.
- Conduct pre‑commissioning inspections, functional testing (continuity, insulation resistance, polarity), and issue resolution.
- Support quality audits and continuous improvement.
- Travel to customer sites for installation oversight, system configuration, troubleshooting, and acceptance testing.
- Coordinate with engineering, project management, and customers.
- Complete reports, test records, and as‑builts; provide feedback for design enhancements.
- Adhere to NEC, UL, IEEE, OSHA protocols, and PPE requirements.
- High school diploma or GED (technical certificate or associate degree preferred).
- 5+ years in electrical cabinet assembly, power systems, UPS, or battery energy storage.
- Proficiency reading schematics; hands‑on with DC/AC systems, batteries, and test equipment (multimeters, hi‑pot testers).
- Field commissioning experience; ability to lift heavy equipment and travel.
- Experience with outdoor enclosures, BESS, microgrids, BMS, or inverters.
- OSHA certification; UL 508A or NEC knowledge.
- Advanced troubleshooting, attention to detail, problem‑solving.
- Self‑directed with strong documentation and communication skills.
- Willingness to mentor juniors.
- Shop floor and outdoor field settings with electrical hazards, weather exposure, and PPE requirements. Full‑time role based near American Fork, UT.
