Senior

Electrical Engineer About This Role

The Senior Electrical Engineer will be a technical anchor for LVT’s hardware team, driving technical direction and raising engineering standards. The role focuses on complex electrical challenges—including high‑speed routing, vision processor integration, and ultra‑low power optimization—across rugged, distributed hardware. It’s based on‑site at our American Fork, Utah facility with occasional travel to vendors, JDMs, and site initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Technical Execution & PCB Design: Own the design, testing, and delivery of electrical systems and components, using Altium or equivalent ECAD, from scratch to production.
  • Architecture & High‑Speed Design: Contribute to architecture and design discussions and implement designs that address high‑speed routing (e.g., LPDDR, MIPI) and vision processors/SoCs such as Ambarella.
  • Low‑Power Optimization: Design and optimize embedded devices for ultra‑low power consumption, balancing hardware and firmware trade‑offs.
  • External Partner & JDM Support: Manage design ownership split, coordinate specifications, evaluate components, and ensure quality control during co‑development with Joint Development Manufacturers.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with firmware, mechanical, and product teams, communicating dependencies and progress to enable product launches.
  • Risk Awareness & DFM: Identify technical risks early and apply Design for Manufacturing principles to minimize board spins and assembly errors.
  • Process Adherence & Improvement: Follow established engineering standards, flag opportunities for improvement, and contribute to process refinement.
  • Continuous Growth: Actively develop technical skills, seek feedback, and take on stretch assignments across multiple product designs.
Ideal Candidate
  • Technical Foundation: Demonstrated competency in electrical engineering with a track record of hardware design, hands‑on experience in Altium/ECAD, embedded systems, and one of: power electronics, vision processor integration, or hardware system integration.
  • Production & Launch Experience: Proven experience delivering hardware through the full product lifecycle to successful commercial launch.
  • Reliable Executor: Ability to drive assigned work independently, manage time, and communicate proactively when blocked.
  • Technical Curiosity & Analytical Thinking: Capable of root‑cause analysis for complex issues such as power delivery problems or hardware/firmware bottlenecks.
  • Team Player: Collaborates effectively across disciplines and with external partners, shares knowledge openly, and accepts feedback constructively.
  • Communicator: Documents and explains work clearly to teammates and adjacent teams (schematics, DFM documents, trade‑offs).
  • Quality‑Mindful: Focused on building durable solutions, attentive to edge cases, power optimization, test coverage, and long‑term maintainability.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S., pass a drug screening and background check upon employment, and be willing to undergo a federal background check and fingerprinting if required.
Benefits

Full‑time benefits include comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage; a 401(k) plan with up to 4% match; and flexible PTO. We support your health, family, and financial future inside and outside the office.

Equal Opportunity Employer

LVT is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran, or disability status. All candidates must pass a drug screening and background check upon employment. Some roles may also require a federal background check and fingerprinting.
