Position: SENIOR CREDIT RISK OFFICER

About The Role

Altabank, Division of Glacier Bank, is hiring a Senior Credit Risk Officer for our American Fork branch, servicing locations throughout our footprint.

Summary

Responsible for making credit decisions on a variety of credit products and generally overseeing credit administration for a specific area of the bank. Assuring portfolio management, credit administration quality control, and credit quality metrics for respective bank regions are satisfactory.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Making loan decisions or recommendations for new loan opportunities, renewals, and/or modifications.
  • Managing credit quality (delinquency, charge‑offs, non‑accruals, problem loans) for specified regions of the bank.
  • Overseeing and maintaining proper loan grading for specified regions of the bank.
  • Acting as a credit resource to loan officers structuring and underwriting loan opportunities.
  • Calling on existing and proposed clients with the loan officer to be a credit resource where needed.
  • Proactively managing risk/exposure and compliance within the bank's portfolio.
  • Assisting in participation with bank credit committees as assigned.
  • Assisting and mentoring loan officers and credit analysts in reviewing complete, articulate loan credit presentations with risks identified and mitigated.
  • Assisting in recommending and improving credit processes in the bank.
  • Complying with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • Completing required bank training courses within assigned time frames.
  • Adhering to Altabank Core Values.
  • Keeping management appropriately informed of area activities and any significant problems.
  • Participating in community service and bank‑sponsored activities that support the mission and values of Altabank.
  • Providing superior internal and external customer service: demonstrating self‑governance, courtesy and respect toward external and internal customers.

About You Qualifications
  • At least fifteen years of similar or related experience.
  • A college degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, business management, or equivalent years of experience in the field.
  • Fifteen years of commercial credit granting and monitoring experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial statements, accounting principles, credit policy, applicable laws and industry data sources.
Knowledge, Skill, Ability
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to interact calmly and professionally with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds at various levels within and outside of the organization.
  • Capability to attend regularly and reliably.
  • Ability to adapt to change through time management, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Work Environment
  • Frequent local travel; average local travel will be 5 hours a week.
  • No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.
