About The Role

Altabank, Division of Glacier Bank, is looking for a Full-time CRE Portfolio Manager III for our American Fork branch.

Role:
Responsible for providing competent credit analysis and portfolio management for the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) portfolio. Oversee credit workflows and processes necessary for the team to achieve optimal levels of production while maintaining excellent credit quality in the portfolio. PM's work directly with clients on requests and portfolio management duties.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee a complex Commercial Real Estate loan portfolio over $200mm in loans outstanding
  • Maintain optimal portfolio quality by monitoring and ensuring:
    • Financial reporting requirements are timely, accurate and filed
    • Loan covenants are monitored in a manner that is timely and accurate
    • Portfolio delinquency is minimized
    • Maturing loans are tracked and properly addressed prior to maturity
    • Annual reviews and ADC reviews are completed in a manner that is timely and accurate
    • Graded credits have accurate and updated Problem Loan Reports
  • Perform commercial loan underwriting tasks such as: analyze business & personal tax returns and financial statements, identify trends and concerns and work closely with assigned commercial team and customers to understand & mitigate credit issues
  • Assess credit worthiness of individuals, companies, and institutions
  • Undertake risk analysis using regional and industry-specific data and gauge market trends
  • Provide informed professional opinions to bank officers regarding applicants’ financial/credit status, suggest loan structures, and support the lending process
  • Clearly and professionally communicate with lending teams and customers and respond to communication within one business day
  • Have adherence to and deep knowledge of loan policy to be used while underwriting and discussing potential loan requests
  • Complete preflight memos to be presented to Senior Credit Risk Officers for new loan requests greater than $5mm
  • Complete credit memos to be presented for approval for both new and renewing loans within 15 days of receiving a complete application
  • Complete quality assurance reviews
  • Determine value of collateral; review independent appraisal reports and other collateral documents that secure the bank’s lien position
  • Lead projects that will consist primarily of credit administration issues and may relate to possible changes in policies and procedures, possible changes as a result of examiner or auditor recommendations, peer group analysis, market studies, changes in compliance and regulations, software upgrades, monitoring of industry or borrower concentrations, risk assessments, and feasibility studies for efficiency gains such as out‑sourcing, in‑sourcing, centralization of duties/staff, etc.
  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control, in addition to all company policies
  • Complete required bank training courses within assigned time frame(s). It is the individual learner’s responsibility to ensure that they understand the information given to them in each training. If the learner does not understand the information given they need to reach out to their supervisor for further clarification or additional training
  • Support business development efforts by assisting Relationship Managers with prospecting and client acquisition, while also maintaining strong ongoing relationships with current clients and centers of influence
  • Review legal closing documents to ensure alignment with approved loan terms and regulatory standards
  • Mentor and train new analysts and portfolio managers, fostering skill development and team performance
