Member Service Representative

Supports Security Service Federal Credit Union in becoming America's Best Credit Union by following our purpose of enriching the lives of our members with beneficial financial solutions and a lifetime of service excellence inspired by our Core Values. Is an expert in personal finance with licensing in Mortgage, Insurance, or basic investment products. Maintains a member centric focus through a consultative sales approach by proactively identifying and meeting needs with beneficial financial solutions through education and SSFCU products and services.

Supports sales efforts with integrity and guidelines set forth by SSFCU. Enhances member relationships by effectively onboarding and creating an exceptional member experience in person or virtually. Focused on growing and retaining these relationships as a subject matter expert of products and services ensuring members and potential members receive the right product at the right time to meet their financial needs.

Supports branch management and team to ensure all credit union goals and objectives are achieved. Provides subject matter expertise on best practices with sales performance and sales initiatives in branch. Provides direct support to management team by performing in sales and leadership functions to enhance branch and employee performance.

High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of four (4) years of financial institution experience in Member Service or Cash Operations or comparable experience in cash handling, customer service, or sales experience, or supervisory experience. Preferred knowledge of federal and state regulations and lending practices, as applicable to a credit union and financial environment.

Outstanding interpersonal skills and professional demeanor. Able to communicate to internal/external members and process requests in a confidential manner. Strong product knowledge, ability to identify member needs, and consultative sales skills. Purpose driven and passionate about improving member's financial well-being while enriching their lives. Compliments and adds value to the management team by providing suggestions for improvement of branch operations and performing leadership functions.

At management discretion employee may be required to complete, within 180 days of the request, federal registration as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) as required by the Secure and Fair Enforcement of Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (S.A.F.E. Act). If registered, must maintain active registration, and comply with all requirements of the S.A.F.E. Act, including but not limited to, providing their unique identifier, and ensuring the Registry is updated with significant changes (i.e., name changes and reportable changes to legal or regulatory actions) within 30 days and must update employment and personal information in the Registry as required.

If required to register as an MLO, must successfully pass, within 180 days of employment in this role, a background check against the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Excluded Parties List (EPL), the HUD Limited Denial of Participation List (LDP List), and the Federal Housing Finance Agency's (FHFA) Suspended Counter party Program (SCP) list as required by the Secondary Market (Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac).

Must maintain ability to pass any subsequent background checks against these lists and comply with all their requirements.
