Key Responsibilities Day-to-day Responsibilities Of This Position
  • Conduct functional behavior assessments to understand the root causes of behaviors
  • Develop individualized behavior support plans based on the functional behavior assessment
  • Create and maintain data systems, including regularly collecting data to track client progress and to make adjustments as needed
  • Work collaboratively with team members and family members
  • Support other members on the behavior health team
  • Provide behavioral training
  • Provide or oversee supervision for behavioral staff as needed
  • Ensure behavior support plans follow ethical guidelines, relevant regulations, and in accordance with best practices
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and techniques in applied behavior analysis
  • Assist team in crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed
  • Supervise fieldwork hours for BCBA/RBT certification
Qualifications Minimum or "day-one" qualifications:
  • Certified as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst
  • 1 year experience working with individuals with intellectual or other developmental disabilities
Preferred Or Trainable/on-the-job Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in applied behavioral analysis
  • Strong skills in data systems; including data collection, analysis, presentation, and using data to inform treatment
  • Flexible and adaptable team member
  • Collaborate across the interdisciplinary team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Google and Microsoft applications
  • Experience in developing and implementing effective behavior support plans
  • Experience in conducting thorough and efficient functional behavior assessment
  • Ability to create and provide effective training
  • Experience in supervising behaviorists or RBTs
About

The Role

The Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) at USDC work closely with other team members to provide and improve behavioral health support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, some of whom also have mental health illnesses. BCBAs at USDC work in a holistic residential campus setting to conduct functional behavior assessments and to develop and revise behavior support plans using applied behavior analysis principles.

They also train staff members on behavior support plans and effective behavior management, including crisis prevention and intervention. BCBAs also provide supervision.
