Contract:

- Administer district policies regarding the use of computers and data access systems and servers related to district LAN and WAN (e.g., e‑mail systems, accounts, print queue, workstation , IP assignments, computer labs, classroom computers, staff computers, network, security, antivirus, spyware) to ensure availability of services to authorized users.
- Install network (client and server) software on a variety of platforms (e.g., service packs, application software, operating software, hardware upgrades, software upgrades) to upgrade and maintain district WAN/LAN and VoIP telecommunication systems.
- Maintain network operations and software applications (e.g., servers such as file, print, application, Web, database, proxy; operating systems; local onsite server backup; routine maintenance programs) to ensure efficient operations.
- Oversee the operation of the local onsite network center (monitor temperature, organize materials, ensure availability of materials, diagnose and resolve problems with computer systems and networks) to ensure efficient operations.
- Participate in meetings, workshops and/or trainings to convey and/or gather information required to perform job functions.
- Prepare written materials (e.g., procedures, system level documentation, reports, memos, letters) to document activities, provide reference and/or convey information.
- Research trends, products, equipment, tests and other pertinent areas to recommend procedures and/or purchases.
- Respond to inquiries from a variety of sources (staff, administrators, school site personnel, outside vendors and service providers) to provide technical assistance, support and training.
- Support a variety of computer systems (e.g., SIS, Online Computer Based Testing, TES, financial software) to ensure district objectives are achieved.
- Support Technology Specialists and System Support Specialists to provide direction and/or solve technical problems.
- Troubleshoot malfunctions of network hardware and/or software applications within the district's local and wide area networks and telephones (e.g., servers, hubs, routers, network protocols, fiber optics) to assist staff in resolving operational issues and restoring services.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
- Age 16 or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of experience in networking and computer support.
