The job of Custodian – Sweeper is performed to provide limited custodial services at the assigned site; ensuring an attractive, sanitary and safe environment for students, staff and visitors; performing a variety of limited cleaning operations; and assisting in preparing facilities for classroom activities and campus events.

Essential Functions

• Assist with site snow removal to ensure access and safety for students, staff and visitors.
• Cleans assigned facilities and/or grounds (classrooms, offices, gym, restrooms, multipurpose rooms, grounds, etc.) to maintain a sanitary, safe and attractive environment.
• Prepares site for daily operations (opening gates, raising flags, sweeping walkways, etc.) to ensure facilities are operational and hazard‑free.
• Replenishes classroom and restroom supplies (paper towels, soap, etc.) for adequate daily use.
• Secures facilities and grounds (doors, gates, alarms, lights, etc.) to minimize property damage, equipment loss and liability.
• Supports other site maintenance staff (grounds, trades, etc.) to complete site custodial activities.
• Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
