Material Handler, Forklift Operator

Responsible for safely facilitating the movement of finished and unfinished material through the manufacturing and production process.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key AccountabilitiesReviews work orders or follows verbal instructions to move pallets and containers from machines.
Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
Moves material from storage or work sites to designated areas. Ensures that operators have all the raw materials to operate their equipment.
Stacks and assembles materials into bundles. Bands bundles.
Removes empty pallets from equipment.
Performs duties of Shipper/Receiver as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Refers complex, unusual problems to supervisor.
Under general supervision, exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques. Work typically involves regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor.
Typically located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors that may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness, such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes.
Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment that may be heavy (50+ pounds) or awkward.
HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred.
Specialized skills training/certification may be required.
Generally, 2-5 years of experience in area of responsibility.
Certified forklift operator with experience safely moving materials in a manufacturing, production, or warehouse environment
Experience supplying raw materials, components, or finished goods to support continuous production operations
Ability to read work orders, identify material requirements, and accurately stage materials for production teams
Strong attention to detail when handling inventory, tracking material movement, and maintaining accurate counts
Familiarity with shipping, receiving, inventory control, or warehouse management processes
Commitment to workplace safety and the ability to work around moving equipment, machinery, and production lines
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while performing physical tasks including lifting, stacking, and material handling
