Night Shift Sunday-Tuesday Alternating Every Other Saturday 6pm-6am.Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of production rooms, warehouse, and office areas in a food manufacturing environment. This includes adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and meeting the stringent cleaning requirements set forth by the Quality Assurance and Sanitation Departments, as well as third-party inspections. Work under the direction of the Team Lead and Supervisor to ensure all cleaning tasks are performed to meet regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities IncludeTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential functions/duty satisfactorily. - Perform daily janitorial tasks, such as restrooms, breakrooms, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal.
- Stock and maintain supply rooms.
- Follow standard work instructions with a positive attitude and a collaborative mindset.
- Follow specific SOPs to complete cleaning tasks.
- Pass cleaning tests and fulfill all cleaning requirements mandated by the Quality Assurance Department, Sanitation Department, and third-party inspections.
- Utilize knowledge and experience with chemicals used for cleaning food equipment, ensuring proper usage and adherence to instructions.
- Mix and dilute chemicals accurately to the intended mixing ratio, using a titration kit to test chemical strength.
- Work in accordance with SQF (Safe Quality Food), PCQI, or HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) rules and regulations.
- Communicate with management of deficiencies, equipment issues, or needs for repairs.
- Must maintain regular and consistent attendance.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Comply with the Environmental Health Safety & Security (EHS&S) policies and applicable regulatory and company EHS&S rules and requirements.
- Report to supervision conditions or practices that are either unsafe or that may adversely impact on the environment, to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards.
- Attend scheduled EHS&S training program.
- Actively support the organization’s efforts to meet or exceed EHS&S goals and plans.
- Recommend improved EHS&S practices.
- Practices safe work habits and follows general safety procedures such as proper lifting and bending, ergonomics, proper use of equipment and use of personal protection equipment (PPE).
- Adheres to and ensures lockout procedures are followed any time the equipment is being cleaned or maintained.
- Place high priority on food safety, quality, and sanitation by understanding and executing Thrive Freeze Dry’s food safety, quality, and sanitation policies and procedures.
- Hold self and others accountable to Thrive Freeze Dry food safety, quality, & sanitation guidelines and policies by communicating any food safety or quality incident, observation, or opportunity to your leadership team or teammates.
- Adheres to and ensures Product Safety and Quality standards are followed.
- Adheres to and ensures GMP’s regarding food contact packaging as it pertains to the employee.
- Adheres to and ensures Thrives food safety, product defense standards and quality objectives complies with all SQF system requirements.
