Float Registered Nurse - Dialysis Experienced

DaVita is seeking a Registered Nurse who is looking to give life in an outpatient dialysis center. You can make an exceptional difference in the lives of our patients and their families dealing with end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease.

• What you can expect:

• Long term patient relationships. Build meaningful relationships with patients and their families in an intimate outpatient setting.

• A team that feels and functions like a family. Staff RNs are a central part of a small interdisciplinary team of clinicians. Work alongside and support technicians, other nurses, dietitians, social workers, physicians and the center manager.

• Specialized, complex care. RNs deliver care to patients with multiple co-morbidities requiring unique treatment plans and a broad range of nursing skills.

• Fast paced. Our RNs oversee a group of patients (census dependent on state laws) with the support of PCTs to conduct patient observations, measure stats and machine setup.

• Schedule. Shifts are typically 10-12 hours, 3-4 days/week. Schedules vary by location with early morning or day shifts; some holidays required.

• Clinical leadership. DaVita has a high percentage of facilities meeting CMS standards. Nurses are expected to contribute to clinical goal setting and quality improvement initiatives.

• Training may occur in a facility or training clinic with a class of new teammates.

• Float to various clinics during and after training.

• Flexible home clinic placement may differ; potential to float to multiple clinics during and after training.

• Flexible schedule; mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays required.

• Current RN license in state of practice;
  Graduate Nurse pre-licensure available in some locations.

• Desire to deliver care empathetically and compassionately.

• Experience assessing, troubleshooting, and making sound recommendations in stressful situations.

• Excellent communication skills with patients and teammates.

• A.D.N. from an accredited nursing school required; B.S.N. or three-year diploma may substitute for nursing degree.

• Basic computer skills; proficiency in MS Word and Outlook; charting in electronic medical record system.

• Current RN license in state of practice.

• Location requires some dialysis experience and a minimum of 9 months RN experience.

• Current driver's license, reliable transportation, and vehicle insurance in state of residence.

• Additional degree requirements: A.D.N./B.S.N. as specified above.

• Basic computer skills and MS Word/Outlook proficiency.

• ICU/CCU/ER/Med Surg experience.

• Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) or Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN).

• Chronic hemodialysis, acute dialysis, or home hemodialysis experience.

• Training/Teaching/Healthcare education background.

• Additional CNN/CDN credentials.
