Position: Full Time Male Human Service Worker
Join Wasatch Behavioral Health as a Full-Time Male Human Service Worker and earn $17.50-$22.17/hour while making a meaningful difference in the lives of youth and families in crisis. At our Vantage Point North youth crisis shelter in American Fork, Utah, you'll provide direct support, supervision, and guidance to youth ages 10-17 experiencing challenges such as family conflict, emotional distress, mental health concerns, trauma-related behaviors, housing instability, and other crises impacting their well-being.

As part of a dedicated team, you'll help create a safe, structured, and supportive environment where youth can find stability, hope, and connection during difficult times. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in behavioral health, social services, crisis intervention, or youth services who are looking to gain hands-on experience while making a lasting impact.

Must be male to qualify for this position.

Schedule:

Sunday-Saturday (Days are Varied, Occasional Holidays), 7:00 AM-3:00 PM and/or 3:00 PM-11:00 PM Compensation: $17.50–$22.17 DOE Benefits

What You'll Do as a Human Service Worker Provide direct supervision, support, and structure to adolescent boys (ages 12–17) in a short-term crisis care setting

Create a safe, stable, and supportive environment for youth experiencing emotional, behavioral, and safety challenges

Assist with daily routines, activities, and skill-building to promote stability and positive behavior

Use de-escalation and behavior intervention techniques to support youth in crisis

Monitor youth safety, including those experiencing suicidal ideation, trauma-related behaviors, or family conflict

Support intake processes, including welcoming walk-ins and helping ensure safety and readiness for admission

Assist with medication management under supervision, following proper protocols

Collaborate with therapists and team members to support individualized care and treatment goals

Maintain accurate documentation and communicate updates on youth behavior and progress

Build trusting, supportive relationships with youth while encouraging growth, accountability, and resilience

Qualifications

High school diploma or GEDValid driver's license

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to stay calm, patient, and grounded during challenging situations

Reliable, team-oriented, and eager to learn

Experience or education in mental/behavioral health is helpful but not required

Must pass a background check and meet WBH hiring standards

Spanish speakers may qualify for a wage increase

Employment at Wasatch Behavioral Health is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen, motor vehicle record review and criminal background check. After hire you must complete and receive a Criminal Background Clearance (BCI) from Utah State Office of Licensing. Upon receipt of a conditional offer of employment in the position, you must provide an official copy of licensure or certification.
