Aspen Peaks School District in American Fork, UT is hiring for the position of Transportation Routing Technician. This position supports the daily routing operations of the Transportation Department, including route development, route maintenance, scheduling, student transportation assignments, and communication of routing information to schools, parents, drivers, and department staff. The Routing Technician works closely with the Transportation Director, Coordinators, and other personnel to maintain safe, efficient, and accurate transportation services for regular education, special education, preschool, activity, and other transportation programs.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in school transportation routing, particularly those with prior Alpine School District Transportation experience. Successful candidates will be organized, detail-oriented, dependable, communicate effectively, adapt to changing priorities, and work well with others while providing outstanding customer service.
- 8 hours per day, 250 days per year
- Lane 13, Contract and Benefits
- Hourly rate: $24.45 - $27.98 (based on experience)
- Starting date:
July 1, 2027 - Builds and maintains bus routes and schedules for regular education, special education, preschool, activity trips, summer school, and other transportation services.
- Assists with route audits and evaluations (e.g. bus stops, travel times, road closures, mileage, bus capacities, and route efficiency) for the purpose of maintaining safe and efficient transportation services.
- Coordinates route changes resulting from student enrollment changes, school requests, road construction, weather conditions, emergency situations, and other operational needs.
- Collects and verifies routing data required for state transportation reports and other district reporting requirements.
