The job of WAREHOUSE WORKER involves providing support to warehousing operations, maintaining inventory levels, ensuring order specifications, verifying stock, maintaining an organized layout, transporting orders, ensuring vehicle safety, and loading/unloading orders. The role also includes providing supervision in the absence of the warehouse supervisor and may involve work in the surplus area.

• Assists in the surplus area as needed to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
• Cleans warehouse to maintain a safe and sanitary work area.
• Delivers items (e.g., mail sacks, boxes, packages, cargo, office supplies, furniture, equipment) to assigned locations and/or individuals.
• Loads and unloads delivery trucks for receiving stock and filling orders for transport.
  
  Mantains manual and electronic documents, files and records to document activities.
• Mantains delivery vehicles (checking fluid levels, fueling, cleaning, brake check, pre-trip inspection) to ensure safe operation.
• Participates in physical inventories to verify stock and identify losses.
• Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
• Prepares orders by pulling from stock to meet delivery requirements.
• Receives stock and nonstock items to ensure specifications, quantity, and quality of orders are correct.
• Researches discrepancies on orders and/or invoices to correct errors or return damaged items to vendors.
• Responds to inquiries of staff and vendors regarding invoices, billing, delivery status, etc.
• Supervises in the absence of the warehouse supervisor for efficient and effective function of the work unit.
• Transports a variety of items to school sites (records/files, supplies, equipment, materials, mail) for receiving and/or delivering materials as required.
