Job Summary
The GSW College of Education invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for its next Dean of the College of Education. The dean will provide academic and strategic leadership, develop and articulate a comprehensive vision and mission, foster innovative practices, advocate for faculty, staff, and students, lead accreditation efforts, collaborate with P-12 partners, and ensure a vibrant future for the College.
Responsibilities
* Manage and supervise college faculty, staff, programs, and events.
* Direct development and budget management efforts
* Oversee curriculum development and accreditation processes.
* Foster innovative practices in teaching, research, and service
* Ensure the College's alignment with the University's strategic goals
* Collaborate with internal and external partners
* Engage in scholarly activities
* Other Duties as Assigned
Required Qualifications
Minimum qualifications
* Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in Education, or a closely related field
* At least five years of academic administrative experience. Roles may include, but are not limited to, Dean, Associate Dean, Department Chair, or similar administrative position
* Experience in P-20 educational settings
* Experience in educator preparation, licensure, and accreditation
* Understanding of national and regional trends in education and educator preparation
* Strong communication skills

* Experience in strategic planning, resource management, and fundraising.
* Experience in fostering interdisciplinary collaborations and partnerships.
* Experience in leading high-impact educational practices, including experiential learning opportunities and internships.
