As a WIC Nutritionist within the Sumter County Health Department at the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.
This position is housed in Sumter County and will be required to travel to the surrounding 16 counties as assigned. You will support the Department by utilizing your expertise to fulfill the following responsibilities:
- Provide nutrition services to clients in the WIC Program as assigned
- Complete nutrition screenings, assessments, and provide education for eligible WIC clients.
- Will be required to travel to the surrounding 16 counties as assigned.
- At least one year of WIC experience is preferred.
Nutritionist/Health Educator 1 - (Hire-in salary - $41,064.48) Bachelor's degree in dietetics, human nutrition, foods and nutrition, nutrition education, food systems management, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university AND verification statement of completion of a didactic program accredited by The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Nutritionist/Health Educator 2 - (Hire-in salary - $45,170.93) Bachelor's degree in dietetics, human nutrition, foods and nutrition, nutrition education, food systems management, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university AND verification statement of completion of a didactic program accredited by The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics AND Two years of experience providing nutrition care to groups and individuals.
Nutritionist/Dietitian 3 - (Hire-in salary - $51,946.80) Bachelor's degree in dietetics, human nutrition, food and nutrition, nutrition education, food systems management or a closely related field from an accredited college or university from an Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics accredited program AND One year of experience as a dietitian/nutritionist AND registration as a Dietitian by the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics Commission on Dietetic Registration AND licensure as a Dietitian in the State of Georgia.
All West Central Health District 7 employees are deemed essential workers in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event including but not limited to: staffing a shelter, working at a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or working at a Point of Dispensing site (POD). If you are called on to participate, you are required to report to the designated site as a condition of employment, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.
