Malone Healthcare - Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Americus, Georgia.

Strict 75 mile radius rule enforced. Candidate must have 2 years of experience in specialty AND 1 travel contract. Unit EC Fast track Clinic Rooms-4 (ESI 4-5). 12 beds, 2 are trauma bays. 1 seclusion room. 70 patients per day. Certs BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS. Ratios 1 to 4. EMR Meditech. Charge Nurse Yes, do not take patients. Nurse Aides/Paramedics: 1 paramedic per shift, typically run clinic and respond to trauma or code;

will have ER techs as well as at least 1 per shift, try to have 2; have nurse externs who are people in nursing school as well. Security/Patient sitters will use for psych holds, 1 on 1 observation. Weekend Requirement:
Every other weekend. Holidays rotate in with perm staff. Scrub Color:
Hunter green pants, white top, white jacket. Tele/Monitor Techs:
No Vents. Yes ED Physicians/Mid-Levels: 1 MD per shift and 2 midlevels that stagger shifts. Lab Draws:
Nurses can do their own; lab can come draw, but nurses usually do own IV. Team has midlines and hard sticks (8-5 M-F). RT 24/7 Yes. Pharmacy 24/7: not in house 24/7, in house during day and after use omnicell or Phoebe. Main pharmacist can help until midnight.

Shifts:

6:45am, 6:45pm, 11am, 3pm. Floating, no floor specific orientation, 3 shifts. Common diagnosis/types of patients:
Neonates to geriatrics, minor walk in to trauma cases, trauma will stabilize and airvac out, peds will be transferred out. Additional notes:
Trauma will stabilize and ship, utilize airvac. Americus GA is a population of 15,000. 37 miles to Albany. 175 miles to Atlanta. 88 miles to Tallahassee FL. 134 miles to Shell Point Beach FL.
