As a Registered Nurse 1 within the Sumter County Health Department at the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will provide professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols, policies, and procedures.

• Function as an expanded role nurse providing patient care consistent with patient’s level of need.
• Utilize the EMR system to accurately document patient care and enter billing information for reimbursement.
• Order and dispense medications based on nursing assessment and according to established nurse protocol.
• Serve as patient advocate and refer patients to community partners or private physicians, when indicated.

• Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
• Completion of a PHN course within one year of hire.
• Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license.
• CPR certification.
• No experience required. A copy of college transcripts is required.
• Preferred:
  Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and one year of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse.

All West Central Health District 7 employees are deemed essential workers in the event of an emergency and may be called on to staff shelters or collection sites. All employees are required to report to the designated site as a condition of employment if called.
