Malone Healthcare - Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN in the Emergency Department for Americus, Georgia.

Key Submission Requirements
  • 75-mile radius rule enforced (candidate must live more than 75 miles from the facility)
  • Minimum 2 years of ED/ER experience
  • At least 1 prior travel contract required
  • Required certifications:
    • BLS
    • ACLS
    • PALS
    • NIHSS
Emergency Department Overview
  • Fast Track/Clinic Rooms: 4 (ESI levels 4–5)
  • ED Beds: 12 total
    • 2 trauma bays
  • Psych Rooms:
    • 1 seclusion room
  • Volume:
    • Approximately 70 patients per day
  • Patient Population:
    • Neonates through geriatrics
    • Minor walk-ins to trauma cases
Staffing & Support
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4
  • Charge nurse:
    Yes (does not take patients)
  • Support staff:
    • 1 paramedic per shift
    • 1–2 ER techs per shift
    • Nurse externs
  • Security/sitters available for psych holds and 1:1 observation
  • ED coverage:
    • 1 physician per shift
    • 2 mid-level providers with staggered schedules
Equipment & Systems
  • EMR: MEDITECH
  • Ventilators:
    Yes
  • RT coverage: 24/7
  • Pharmacy:
    • In-house during daytime
    • After hours via Omnicell and pharmacist support through midnight
  • IV team:
    • Available weekdays 8 AM–5 PM for midlines and difficult sticks
Scheduling
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holidays rotated with permanent staff
  • No floating
  • Orientation: 3 shifts
Unit Expectations
  • Nurses typically perform:
    • IV starts
    • Lab draws
  • Trauma patients are stabilized and transferred/airlifted out
  • Pediatric patients requiring higher-level care are transferred
