Position: Social Services Tech 1 (Parent Educator)- Sumter Co.

Position:
Social Services Tech 1 – Sumter County Health Department (grant‑funded position until March 2029).

Location:

Sumter County Health Department, Georgia. The position is not remote.

Responsibilities
  • Engage in recruitment activities as applicable.
  • Complete initial and annual family‑centered assessments.
  • Develop, monitor, and review goals with each family.
  • Provide group sessions and one‑to‑one home visits focused on health and development, planning, delivering, and documenting each visit.
  • Travel to conduct home visits.
  • Administer appropriate screenings to expectant and postpartum mothers, children, and families.
  • Provide group connections to build social connections, engage in parent‑child interaction activities, and increase knowledge of child development support.
  • Connect families to resources and help transition to other services as needed.
  • Maintain and submit all required family and program documentation promptly.
  • Participate in at least 2 hours of reflective supervision monthly.
  • Participate in at least 2 hours of staff meetings monthly.
  • Obtain competency‑based professional development.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One year of experience in a social‑services related position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a social‑services related field from an accredited institution.
  • One year of experience in a social‑services related field.
  • Valid driver's license.
