Job SummaryThis position directs the department's compliance functions and manages a variety of student athlete support services. This position will also participate in athletics fundraising and build external relationships that will advance the university's mission.
Responsibilities- Oversees department compliance with all relevant rules and regulations. (65%)
- Oversees and reviews the eligibility of all student-athletes in accordance with NCAA regulations.
- Oversees rules training and interpretation for coaches and student athletes.
- Oversees NCAA compliance reporting.
- Oversees NCAA financial aid reporting.
- Manages the provision of services to student athletes. (20%)
- Provides academic advising to student athletes.
- Collaborates with Residence Life, Admissions, and Financial Aid staff to provide services to student athletes.
- Performs a variety of related duties. (15%)
- Supervises game day operations for soccer, basketball, baseball, and softball.
- Serves on university committees.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Director of Athletics.
- Master's degree in a course of study related to the occupational field required.
- A minimum of four years of related experience required.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
- Knowledge of intercollegiate athletics.
- Knowledge of the rules and regulations governing intercollegiate athletics.
- Knowledge of budget development and management principles.
- Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices.
- Skill in the delegation of responsibility and authority.
- Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs.
- Skill in decision making and problem solving.
- Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.
- Skill in oral and written communication.

OtherInformation SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
The Director of Athletics assigns work in terms of department goals and objectives. The supervisor reviews work through conferences, reports, and observation of department activities.
GUIDELINESGuidelines include the NCAA Division II Manual, the Peach Belt Conference Policy and Procedure Handbook, the GSW Compliance Manual, the GSW Student Athlete Handbook, and system and university policies and procedures. These guidelines require judgment, selection and interpretation in application. This position assists in developing department guidelines.
COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK- The work consists of varied management, supervisory, and instructional duties. Strict regulations contribute to the complexity of the position.
- The purpose of this position is to direct the department's compliance-related functions as well as participate in revenue generating events/functions. Success in this position contributes to the program compliance with all relevant rules and regulations.
